WHAT'S NEW: STARK INTRODUCES A NEW RANGE OF CUT-RESISTANT AND SHATTERPROOF SAFES

An ambitious goal: upgrading home security against current discasso techniques

Stark, a leading European manufacturer of safes and security systems for home and professional use, has more than 50 years' experience in high-tech metalworking. An innovative and decidedly dynamic company, it was the first to introduce laser cutting technology in the production of safes since the 1990s. Stark has also obtained certification related to its ISO 9001:2008 corporate quality system through TÜV.

In recent years, it has achieved a further record of technological innovation, with the use of 3-D laser cutting in the manufacture of door/frame fronts with slant-cut, break-proof, and lastly, the application of latest-generation, ultra-high-hard synthetic mineral-based materials with an anti-cutting function. A product line entirely designed and built in the Novellara (RE) plant, equipped with automated and advanced technology equipment.

Prevention and security are an increasing need in Italian homes due to the fact that burglaries are steadily increasing. In 2015, a Censis report indicates a record increase in residential burglaries, 689 per day, more than doubled in the last ten years (+127 percent), a house burglarized every two minutes, in the last year alone the increase was 5.9 percent. “The increase in crimes that disturb the domestic peace,” Censis points out, “leads to an increase in the worries of ordinary people,” even by families the perception of risk of crime in their area has increased. Thieves strike private homes because other places such as banks, post offices, and stores are more protected by various security systems and because of the certainty of finding easier loot, given the still current preference of Italians, in times of crisis and great uncertainty about the future, to keep their valuables “under the mattress.”

Industry statistics on the prevailing methods of burglary indicate percentages of around 65-70% for cutting and the remainder for breaking through; it is on the basis of this data that once again comes from Stark the most advanced answer with Cassafortissima, a line of wall and cabinet safes resistant to breakthrough tests with 110 blows from a 4 kg sledgehammer and 40 cm handle and to attack tests with at least 12 cutting discs on the front. Of particular interest is the video showing the attack test in its entirety, available on the YouTube channel www.youtube.com/users/Starksrl; more information is also available at: www.starksafes.com

Over the past 20 to 30 years, the technologies of construction of everyday objects have totally changed: it would be unthinkable in this day and age to use a cell phone or other household appliance from a few decades ago, and even the safe, in light of current burglary techniques, is no exception.
If the market has understood the need for upgrading security doors and locks, why should it not embrace the same need when it comes to safes? Replacing obsolete safes does not necessarily mean, however, dismantling the old one in favor of the new model. We start from the concept that the safes placed in our homes are no longer suitable for defending the security of our most valuable possessions, however, there are things that require “a safe place” to protect our privacy, so do not remove but add a safe with high resistance and protection capabilities.
This is another reason why Stark today represents an example of Made in Italy excellence, recognized in all the most important and interesting international markets.
